Currently swooning and crooning at Quality Hill Playhouse! Sinatra's Songwriters: The Genius of Sammy Cahn
From his early days with Tommy Dorsey’s band to the pinnacle of success in Las Vegas, one man was with Frank Sinatra all the way: Sammy Cahn. Sammy wrote for Sinatra, and Sinatra sang for Sammy. Together they made the perfect team, Sinatra as “The Voice” and Sammy as the words. From the highest of the highs (“Come Fly With Me”), to the lowest of the lows (“Guess I’ll Hang My Tears Out To Dry”), to all of the happiness in between (“Love and Marriage”), Sammy could translate Sinatra’s creative ideas into the perfect lyrics. Their partnership produced 87 hit recordings and won Sammy four Academy Awards for Best Song (“Three Coins In The Fountain,” “High Hopes,” “Call Me Irresponsible,” “All The Way”).
Celebrate the career of Frank Sinatra through the man who penned much of it in this stylish cabaret revue featuring favorites from Sinatra’s early big band years in 1930s New York (“Until The Real Thing Comes Along,” “Please Be Kind,” “I Could Make You Care”) to hits from his Vegas acts of the 50s and 60s (“Teach Me Tonight,” “Only The Lonely”). Enjoy over two dozen Sammy Cahn-Frank Sinatra hits performed by vocalists Lauren Bradshaw, Lauren Braton, and Joseph Carr, led by pianist and emcee J. Kent Barnhart. Ken Remmert on drums and Ben Tervort on bass put the “swing” in this swinging tribute!
